Private Marrakech 4 Days Desert Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Skoura Oasis → Dades Valley
We pick you up early from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and start driving toward the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n'Tichka pass with its amazing mountain views. This is a great chance to stop, stretch, and take some beautiful photos.
Next, we stop at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage kasbah and one of the most photographed sites in Morocco, famous for its old earthen buildings and film history.
We take our time here to walk around and learn about its story.In the afternoon, we continue driving through changing landscapes until we reach the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and rose gardens. Dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable guesthouse in the Dades Valley.
Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorges → Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we leave the Dades Valley and drive toward the Todra Gorge, a huge canyon with tall red cliffs rising on both sides. We stop here for a short walk and some incredible photos of this natural wonder.
From there, we pass through Tinghir, a palm-filled oasis town, before continuing our journey across changing desert landscapes toward Merzouga, gateway to the Sahara.
In the late afternoon, we reach Merzouga, where camels are waiting to take you into the Erg Chebbi dunes for a magical sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional desert camp, with Berber music and drums around the campfire under a sky full of stars.
Day 3: Merzouga Desert → Rissani → Alnif → Agdz → Ouarzazate
Wake up early to watch a stunning sunrise over the golden dunes, then ride back by camel to Merzouga for breakfast. Before leaving, we stop in Khamlia, a small village known for its Gnawa music, born from the old trade routes of the Sahara.
We then begin the drive toward Ouarzazate, known as the "Door of the Desert" and the "Hollywood of Morocco," passing through wide desert valleys and small kasbahs along the way.
In the afternoon, we visit Ouarzazate's famous film studios, where many big Hollywood movies were filmed. Overnight stay in a comfortable hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 4: Ouarzazate → Ait Benhaddou → High Atlas Mountains → Marrakech
After breakfast, we leave Ouarzazate and drive toward Telouet, home to an impressive old kasbah once used by a powerful local family, with beautifully decorated rooms still visible today.
From there, we cross the High Atlas Mountains one more time on our way back to Marrakech, making a few last stops for photos before arriving in the evening, with unforgettable memories of your Sahara desert adventure.
