Our private 6 Days Tour from Casablanca is the ideal way to discover Morocco's imperial cities and northern coast in one continuous journey.
This 6 Days Tour from Casablanca to Tangier takes you through Rabat, Fes, Meknes, Volubilis, Chefchaouen, and Asilah, combining royal history, ancient ruins, medieval medinas, mountain villages, and coastal charm, all without retracing your steps.
As a private journey, the Casablanca to Tangier 6 Days Tour is fully tailored to your schedule, with each day dedicated to a different facet of Morocco: the modern capital of Rabat, the imperial cities of Fes and Meknes, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the blue streets of Chefchaouen, and the whitewashed coastal town of Asilah before ending in Tangier, the gateway between Africa and Europe.
Your journey begins with a morning pickup from your hotel or Casablanca airport. After meeting your driver, we leave Casablanca and travel north toward Rabat, the capital of Morocco and one of the country’s historic imperial cities. Upon arrival, begin exploring the city with a visit to the impressive Hassan Tower, one of Rabat’s most recognizable landmarks.
This unfinished minaret dates back to the 12th century and stands beside the elegant Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where members of Morocco’s royal family are buried. Continue toward the Kasbah of the Udayas, a historic fortress overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Bou Regreg River.
Take time to wander through its peaceful white-and-blue streets, admire the traditional architecture, and enjoy views across the coast. Depending on your interests and available time, you may also explore the old medina or walk along the riverfront before checking into your accommodation. In the evening, enjoy some free time to experience Rabat at your own pace. Overnight in Rabat.
After breakfast, we leave Rabat and travel toward Meknes, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Known for its impressive historical monuments and grand architecture, Meknes was once the capital of Sultan Moulay Ismail.
Begin your visit with the famous Bab Mansour gate, one of the most impressive monumental entrances in Morocco, before exploring the historic medina and learning about the city’s royal past. Depending on the schedule, you may also see the old royal granaries and stables associated with Sultan Moulay Ismail. We then continue toward Volubilis, one of Morocco’s most important archaeological sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Explore the remarkably preserved Roman ruins, including ancient streets, columns, temples, and beautifully detailed mosaics that provide a glimpse into life in Roman North Africa nearly 2,000 years ago. After visiting Volubilis, continue through the Moroccan countryside toward Fes.
We arrive in the evening and check into your traditional riad or hotel. You can spend the rest of the evening relaxing or taking a short walk around the area near your accommodation. Overnight in Fes.
After breakfast, meet your local guide for a full day dedicated to discovering Fes, one of Morocco’s most historic and culturally significant cities. Begin your exploration in Fes el Bali, the ancient walled medina and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter through the famous Bab Bou Jeloud and follow the narrow winding streets into a fascinating world of traditional markets, artisan workshops, bakeries, spice shops, historic buildings, and local life.
Visit the famous Chouara Tanneries, where leather has traditionally been processed and dyed using techniques that have been passed down through generations. Continue toward the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, an important historic center of Islamic learning.
Your guide will explain its history and significance from the surrounding streets, as access to the religious interior may be restricted. Throughout the day, discover Fes’s rich tradition of craftsmanship, including leatherwork, ceramics, metalwork, textiles, and wood carving.
Depending on your interests and the day's schedule, you can also visit historic madrasas, traditional fountains, artisan quarters, and other important landmarks within the medina. After the guided tour, enjoy some free time to explore the souks independently, shop for traditional Moroccan products, or relax at a rooftop café overlooking the old city. Overnight in Fes.
After breakfast, leave Fes and begin the journey north toward the Rif Mountains and the beautiful town of Chefchaouen. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, with green hills, agricultural areas, and small rural communities along the way.
As you approach Chefchaouen, the Rif Mountains become more prominent and the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic. Arrive in Chefchaouen in the afternoon and check into your traditional riad or hotel.
The remainder of the day is free for you to explore this famous Blue City at your own pace. Wander through the narrow blue-painted streets of the old medina, discover hidden stairways and small squares, and browse local shops selling handmade textiles, pottery, leather goods, and other Moroccan crafts.
Make your way to Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the main square of the medina, where you can relax at a café and enjoy the atmosphere of the town. For those interested in photography and panoramic views, a walk toward the Spanish Mosque viewpoint offers a beautiful perspective over Chefchaouen and the surrounding Rif Mountains, particularly around sunset. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Chefchaouen before continuing toward Morocco’s Atlantic coast. After breakfast, take some additional time to explore the medina, visit the historic Kasbah Museum, or return to Plaza Uta el-Hammam for a final coffee or mint tea.
The slower morning allows you to experience Chefchaouen without rushing and gives you an opportunity to purchase any final souvenirs from the local artisan shops. Around midday, meet your driver and depart toward Asilah. The journey takes you through the northern Moroccan countryside before reaching the Atlantic coast.
Arrive in Asilah in the afternoon and check into your accommodation. Asilah is a charming coastal town known for its whitewashed buildings, historic medina, oceanfront ramparts, and colorful murals. Spend the afternoon walking through the peaceful medina, where brightly painted doors and traditional houses create a beautiful contrast with the blue Atlantic waters.
Walk along the historic ramparts for views of the ocean and explore the narrow streets decorated with murals and local artwork. As the day comes to an end, enjoy the coastal atmosphere and perhaps watch the sunset from the town walls. Overnight in Asilah.
After breakfast, enjoy some final free time in Asilah before beginning the short drive to Tangier, one of Morocco’s most famous northern cities. Located at the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea, Tangier has long been an important crossroads between Morocco, Europe, and Africa.
Depending on your departure schedule, there may be time for a brief visit to the historic Tangier medina, where you can explore the narrow streets, traditional shops, and lively markets. Another possible stop is Cape Spartel, a spectacular coastal viewpoint located where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean near the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar.
You can also visit the nearby Hercules Caves if time permits. Your tour concludes in Tangier with a transfer to the airport, ferry port, train station, hotel, or another onward destination according to your travel plans. This marks the end of your 6-day journey through Morocco’s imperial cities, historic ruins, mountain landscapes, blue medinas, and Atlantic coastline.
